She has extensive weather and climate experience, and has covered many severe weather events and natural disasters including, blizzards, canyon winds, downbursts, hurricanes lake winds, flash floods, nor’easters, and tornado outbreaks. Erika’s most memorable weather (and weather-related) events include, wall-to-wall coverage of the 2011 Halloween nor'easter, Super Storm Sandy, 2019 Channel Islands Boat Fire's wind and water conditions, and Utah’s 2020 destructive downslope wind storm. She’s forecasted national weather on Good Morning America and World News Tonight. She is committed to environmental and wildlife education, and is a volunteer with several national organizations. Her passion for the planet inspired her to develop platforms and initiatives for weather, climate and global sustainability awareness. Erika is a Skywarn Storm Spotter and Weather Ready Nation Ambassador for The National Weather Service.
